hunter
I've just finished my PC upgrade and now everyone I speak to is telling me to change from vista 32 up to windows 7 64 bit, but I don't fully understand it and need advise please. My main question is, if I do go to the 64 bit upgrade, will all my other programs work. Also will FSX need to be re installed. PS, since the PC upgrade, FSX is flying along , even at YMML with all settings at the recommend levels and using TrafficX at 70% Here is what I did on the PC upgrade CORE i7 980X/3.33GHz/6.4GT QPI/12MB CACHE,6 CORES $1430 GA-X58A-UD5 X58, 6DDR3, PICE, RAID, 2GBLAN, SATA3, USB3.0, 3FW, ATX $360 Corsair Ultimate Dominator, CMP6GX3M3A1600C7 6GB (3x XMS3 2GB) $315 Asus ENGTX285-2DI-1GD3 $480 Antec Three Hundred Case with 120mm&200mm fans, $100 A new black colour DVD Burner to match the case $
Tim Harris
You put Vista32 on THAT beautiful beast of a system! oh dear Simply put..a 32bit OS only allows you to use up to 4GB of RAM, a 64bit OS allows you to use up to 128GB of RAM (one day), so you are effectively not getting the most out of your RAM (and most likely the rest of your system) However if your happy with Vista32 then just leave it, as its best to do a clean-wipe/format when upgrading to Windows7-64bit (including re-installing FSX) And yes everything works with Windows7, and if it doesn't its rare
