B77X
The AUS v2 announcement that new airport codes for YCFS, YLMQ and YMAE I know Coffs Harbor and Belmont are addon airports are these codes changed too?
Graham Eccleston
YPEC, YSCH and YMUI are codes locked into FSX and P3D up to V4.5 and as such we are forced to retain those codes as well for those platforms. These three airports will continue to be found under those codes within those systems. Lockheed Martin have updated some 500 or so airports to their current codes within P3D V5. That has now given up the opportunity to update many of our payware and freeware airports as well. Coffs Harbour, Lake Macquarie (Aeropelican) and Murray Island are three that we have updated to YCFS, YLMQ and YMUI respectively. These three airports will now be included under those new codes within our Orbx file sets for P3D V5 only. Due to the limitations of FSX and P3D, we are restricted to using airport ICAO codes in accordance with the base data contained within those systems. We are unable to override that base data. And to note the new airport files are in my p3d v4 installation of Aus v2 Do I disable the new airport code files when I install Coffs Harbor for example? Graham Eccleston
You will find those files within P3D V4.5 are dummy’s. They are there to keep the file set in sinc between V4.5 and V5. They will do no harm in V4.5 just as the files for YPEC, YSCH and YMUI will do no damage in V5. There will be no problems provided users do not copy file sets from V4.5 to V5 and vice versa. Some of the contents of these files are different between the two sims. The excludes included within the payware versions of these airports will take care of any conflicts when installed. There should be nothing for the user to do outside of Orbx Central.
