flyguy737
ok I got an email from Nvidia about DX11? now from what I see it relates to the new GTX470/480 cards. So is it only these cards that will support it? will DX11 have any affect on FSX? will it require a new OS?
Atomic_Sheep
Features of DX11 http://www.microsoft.com/games/en-US/aboutGFW/pages/directx.aspx So unless I'm mistaken, the answer to all your questions would be no. As for which cards will and won't be able to support it, not sure about that question but I'll take a stab at it and say that cards will suport it but perhaps not utilise those features/not utilise those features to the same extent as the 470/480 cards. Phil Manhart
DX11 will not effect FSX in any way as FSX is a DX9 program with slight capabilities of running in DX10 in the Preview Mode. ATi DX11 cards are the 5xxx series cards. nVidia DX11 cards are the 4xx series cards. All a confusing mess to keep track of really... Phil
flyguy737
thanks for that guys yeah so DX11 would be great for new games that support it but not for fsx that is exactly what I thought.

Phil Manhart
If you are running W7 you have DX11 but your card is only capable of rendering DX10. That's why dxdiag says DX11. Phil
