John York
I don't normally like to fly taildraggers but for this leg I decided to fly in the DeHavilland Beaver with the tundra wheels which I thought was fitting for the terrain. Apart from the difficulties for taxiing it's a delight to fly. Well this is all you get at Hall's Creek folks; At last, it's greening up a bit as I cross the Mueller Ranges; It's nice to see some real water at last; Here's the runway. Not to far into the town by the look of it; Short final. Now remember its a tail-dragger John, keep the nose down until the very last minute befor touching. All parked up and ready to see what Fitzroy Crossing has to offer. Next I go to Curtin Air Base and then finish the crossing at Broome. I imagine you'll be breathing a sigh of relief then. I know I will! John
