tim_A
Back in the Victorian tour, there was a segment following the Murray River. This leg gives us a touch of Deja Vu, as we follow the opposite bank... Corowa is a bit of a sprawling airfield (oh to live in a country with all that space!). Here I'm by the fuel farm, all juiced up and ready to go. [img width=1160 height=309]http://img709.imageshack.us/img709/9031/nsw0903.jpg Taking off, and passing the sprawling hangar complex [img width=1160 height=309]http://img710.imageshack.us/img710/9710/nsw0904.jpg Another view of the airfield [img width=1160 height=309]http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/1549/nsw0905.jpg The north bank of the Murray River [img width=1160 height=309]http://img709.imageshack.us/img709/2776/nsw0906.jpg It's at this point I want a soundtrack! [img width=1160 height=309]http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/9216/nsw0907.jpg Tocumal. I did a touch and go, but I haven't shown any pics of it because it's an unimproved default airfield, and, frankly, it's dull. [img width=1160 height=309]http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/9712/nsw0908.jpg Somehow I've picked up a back seat passenger! [img width=1160 height=309]http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/9198/nsw0909.jpg Approaching the township of Deniliquin. If you know where to look, the airstrip is by that brown L shaped field ahead of me. [img width=1160 height=309]http://img710.imageshack.us/img710/7361/nsw0910.jpg Setting up for an approach. Again it's an unimproved default airfield. So, moving right along... [img width=1160 height=309]http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/4784/nsw0911.jpg Deniliquin is on the banks of the Edward River, and at the edge of what is considered the flattest land on Earth. [img width=1160 height=309]http://img23.imageshack.us/img23/1360/nsw0912.jpg The Riverine Plain stretches North [img width=1160 height=309]http://img717.imageshack.us/img717/536/nsw0913.jpg but the Sun is heading West... [img width=1160 height=309]http://img192.imageshack.us/img192/3323/nsw0914.jpg The twinkling lights of Hay apprar in the gathering gloom [img width=1160 height=309]http://img709.imageshack.us/img709/4290/nsw0915.jpg It's not often I have to switch my lights on! [img width=1160 height=309]http://img192.imageshack.us/img192/8259/nsw0917.jpg This time it's the Murrumbidgee River. The forests here are River Red Gum, not that we can make ot much of them in the falling light. [img width=1160 height=309]http://img151.imageshack.us/img151/834/nsw0916z.jpg Turning final.
