tennyson
After buying the skywagon the other day, I got to working on a new livery for it. It was that of the Skywagon 1448, which is currently at the War Museum in Saigon, Vietnam. I took a bunch of photo's and am currently working on getting it right. After my initial efforts, I decided that to add to the authenticity, I would have to change the interior to reflect the aircraft as it flew in the Vietnam War in 1969, so I set about trawling the net for photo's and info on this little bird. What I came up with, even tho some facts are dubious, has allowed me to create textures for the interior and even the pilot's uniform of the day. It's still got some ways to go as I want to add that battered and weathered look to the interior as well as the exterior. Anyways, here are a few pics of what I've done so far. Just interior shots mostly, long way to go. Photo's I've found show that I need to remove the yellow off the wing tips and lighten the belly Need to weather up the green aluminium finish [img width=1160 height=324]http://www.fsfiles.org/imagehost/uploads/1267032449.jpg Piping on the leather seats needs attention [img width=1160 height=324]http://www.fsfiles.org/imagehost/uploads/1266990355.jpg Window frames should be yellow [img width=1160 height=320]http://www.fsfiles.org/imagehost/uploads/1267011662.jpg When I'm finished, I'll upload it to the Ozx site. tennyson
THanx guys. I've only got a few fixes to do on the outside, but it's the interior that's taking the time. Have to change the entire dash, back to gun metal grey and then weather the interior colours. The pilot's flying overalls and flying jacket are almost done as well. It really is a labour of love, but it's worth it when you post these paints on OZx and you see hundreds of people from all over the globe downloading it and flying it. It's quite a buzz, Frank P.S. Next one after this is finishing off the HARS Connie project
