tim_A
Been a while since I've posted, but I'm still pushing around Victoria. There's been a lot of default 'runway only' airfields, but now I'm back in the Melbourne area and the airports once again live up to the scenery... Todays flight starts from Penfield YPEF, to the North Wes of Melbourne. [img width=1160 height=309]http://img704.imageshack.us/img704/954/fsx2010013114122796.jpg I've been touring some of the local vinyards, so that might explain my flying today... [img width=1160 height=309]http://img230.imageshack.us/img230/7014/fsx2010013114181318.jpg Ant's Tig is easy fo fly. We're on course, and staying beneath the CTA. [img width=1160 height=309]http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/1410/fsx2010013114195458.jpg Oh dear, the alcohol's kicked in!!! [img width=1160 height=309]http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/8898/fsx2010013114195999.jpg Whee! [img width=1160 height=309]http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/4523/fsx2010013114212033.jpg Ground - sky - sky - ground.... okay, that's enough! [img width=1160 height=309]http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/8162/fsx2010013114503494.jpg Avalon is behind us on the far left of the pic, and Ceres, the nice little banana-shaped strip nestling at the foot of the hills on the right [img width=1160 height=309]http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/2470/fsx2010013115083201.jpg Before, I had to content myself with a flypast at Airey's Inlet, since there was no way the plane would get in and out again [img width=1160 height=309]http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/7016/fsx2010013115123241.jpg But this time I can get in a touch and go, since I'm passing... [img width=1160 height=309]http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/3287/fsx2010013115134470.jpg Climbing out. There's no one on the beach [img width=1160 height=309]http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/8189/fsx2010013115312902.jpg I'm now going to follow the coast the rest of the way to Apollo Bay, since the cloudbase was too low to go over the top [img width=1160 height=309]http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/9232/fsx2010013115364933.jpg Final. The strip slopes up from the beach. [img width=1160 height=309]http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/9310/fsx2010013115374111.jpg There are cows in the paddock beyond the runway. You really don't want to overshoot! [img width=1160 height=309]http://img707.imageshack.us/img707/8445/fsx2010013115430295.jpg Parking is right down the bottom, by the beach. There's a couple of tour outfits here offering flights around the Twelve Apostles. So I think it's time to sit back while somebody else flies the chopper....
