Light Posted August 18, 2018 Share Posted August 18, 2018 Hi Everyone, On a recent simulated flight to Komo SHD PNG I was surprised to see that the airstrip wasn't there. I know many strips are missing in the scenery but after getting all the airport details from Navigraph, I was planning a Cloudbreak and instrument approach into Komo in the AS340. Komo was a victim of the recent earthquakes but is the base for oil exploration in the Southern Highlands and consequently has soffisticated Nav aids and I guess a an adequate paved runway. Hence the SAAB 340. Workers returning from AYPY. If there are plans for more quality PNG strips please include Komo. I ended up landing at Moro [Lake Kutubu] As an aside , Komo sure has changed since I was flying 185's in the in the !970s when the oil exploration was just getting underway.
