FTX Roads too hard too see

After Installing AUBLUE and the freeware airports I was trying to navigate around visually with a map. Trouble is, it's very hard to pick out the major roads which are shown on maps. They just don't have any contrast to the surrounding landscape and the major roads are as wide as the minor roads. Below is a link to a couple of screenshots taken between Mangalore and Nagambie. They show that the VSX roads are much easier to see than the FTX ones. Even large motorways are hard to pick out. Having autogen set at a higher setting helps with the contrast a bit in some places, but this kills framerates.

This is a real problem when trying to navigate IFR (I Follow Roads !  ) and do things like find the freeware airports. Anyone got a fix or workaround? Normally I wouldn't even bother commenting about this, but seeing as I paid for FTX, I was hoping it would be easier to navigate visually.
