My old machine's Mobo has just quit, and seeing the whole system will be three years old in October I have a green light from the better half to upgrade the lot! I am toying with the idea of having a crack at building my own system from scratch. I did small upgrades (more RAM and new GPU) to my old system but have never started from scratch or known what that means or entails. I have a relatively new 32 inch moniter, keyboard and mouse so it is just the "box"to upgrade. Anyone know good sites to have a look at? Where can I get reliable info from re parts etc. My budget will be around $3000 so I should be able to do something special with that, but am in no hurry to get started... just deciding where to start. Someone suggested I wait 6 months for the new intel chips.... I just don't know. Should I 'have a crack' or go and find someone to source and build for me? In the meantime, its FTX/FSX on the lappie! Centre Com, Cnet and CPL The system l`m building is around the $3000 mark also but l`m stuck on the ram. But l bought the following Antec 902 case Antec 850 True power PS i7 920 GTX 298 gigabyte 2 gig Pioneer dvd burner Ex58-ud5 WD Black 500gig HD WD VR 10,000rpm HD so l`m now after the memory, not sure 6 or 12 gig memory.
