spud Posted March 10, 2016 Share Posted March 10, 2016 Notice that the new Global Freeware KSBS (Steamboat Springs) wind sock location, while correct for the airport, is surrounded by trees. Google shows the wind sock/segmented circle in a completely open area with no trees. As shown it would be very difficult to get a correct indication of wind direction and speed from the sock.
