  1. "Acclaimed developer Frank Schnibben (Cityscape Honolulu, Melbourne Cityscape for AUv2)"

I just realized I bought both of these for P3D, the sim of the dark age, and they were superb. I'm willing to support the developer again but a question to those at Orbx who make decisions: do you have plans to do something like this but for the whole of Liverpool, England, UK, the airport EGGP and its immediate surrounding area?

  2. Agreed. I can't buy this airport in this state:

But I really want to, as the flight from EGGP to EGLC is amazing, specially the approach to it (rwy 27 ILS) where it pretty much gives you a scenic VFR approach over the beautiful and ultra-realistic Orbx london city landmarks, and adding Orbx EGLC will increase and multiply the immersion manifold. I added Orbx EGLC to MSFS marketplace wishlist, and will buy as soon as I see user/customer reports about this and any other current issues getting fixed. Props to Orbx though for already and supposedly fixing some past issues already.

  3. Re: all the criticisms against MSFS London Landmarks in this thread

I've bought and used it and I'm not understanding the issue here. We aren't supposed to look at the landmarks from such a low height and distance. This is a flight simulator, not Cities: Skylines. Some of you guys are flying the drone camera literally inches from the landmarks and taking pics. The altitude and distance you are using aren't realistic. You will never fly an aircraft or helicopter that close to the landmarks in London in real life. And think of the FPS hit as well if you really want them highly detailed.

Orbx have done a phenomenal job with this addon.

    Bump...

Any advantage to Microsoft Store versus Steam?

Advantage: If you love Gaben, you get to pay him 30% of $60/$80/$120 (depending on which version of MSFS you buy) for absolutely no reason.

Disadvantage: You get to add the Steam-powered DRM and launcher on top of the Windows DRM, and Microsoft and Asobo lose the 30% of $60/$80/$120 you give to Valve.

If Orbx sold MSFS through Orbx Direct and took a cut, I'd have been more willing to pay it to them because they have done a lot for flight simulation community whereas Steam/Valve has done absolutely nothing.

  5. I bought MSFS from MS Store but won't have access to the sim until 00:00 UK time tonight.

It says on your page for https://orbxdirect.com/product/landmarks-london "You will need Orbx Central to download and install this product."

Can it be downloaded and installed from MSFS's own in-sim marketplace without having to install yet another third-party launcher/DRM-provider, the likes of which infested the previous sims?

This time around I'll be trying to buy everything third party from a single place and not willing to install additional software just to buy/install/run/configure them.

If it can't be downloaded/installed/configured from MSFS's own in-sim marketplace then I'm sorry to say me and my wallet will have to wave goodbye to Orbx (or any other third party dev who requires me to install completely unnecessary stuff just to buy/install/run their stuff in the new MSFS).

I want to love Orbx  and continue to support them but not if they force me to install unnecessary stuff.

One question remains for me: Innsbruck(LOWI) is announced as part of the handcrafted airports by release of MSFS2020. What will be the upgrade offers above via the Orbx-version and will it pricewise a worthy upgrade?

I wanna know this as well. What is the difference between this Orbx LOWI for MSFS and the free but handcrafted version of LOWI in base MSFS?
