resolved Somehow those trees just don't look right
Don Whyte replied to Don Whyte's topic in PREPAR3D® V5.x Support Forum
Ah yes, now I see the proper vegetation. What a great improvement, the Orbx trees are much more realistic. This is all spelled out in the Trees User Manual. I'm always complaining about the lack of manuals for software. Guess I should read what's available! Thanks guys, just super. I think you can call this resolved. Regards Don -

thanks for responding Holger. I tried unchecking the "Dynamic 3D Autogen Vegetation" but the trees looked unchanged. So I turned them off completely by setting the Autogen vegetation density to None. It looks more acceptable now. I'd like to experiment with/without Orbx scenery to see how the scenery looks generally. Regards Don -

To clarify, the trees look the same to me in P3D v5 with or without Orbx scenery. I was hoping the installation of Orbx would improve the P3D v5 trees. I was able to copy and paste the above images, a mountainous area east of Vancouver B.C. P3D V5: Same area in P3D v3: -
I recently installed Orbx scenery into P3D v5. Somehow the trees just don't look like I expected. I installed the Orbx products into a library and have verified all files. https://imgur.com/ogw6fzk Here's the same area in P3D v3 with the same Orbx products installed. https://imgur.com/3Sd6NB6 I'm a recent V5 user and I am surprised that the trees look so hokey. Respectfully, I was hoping Orbx would fix it.

I have a number of Orbx products installed in my P3Dv3. Will I be able to install them into P3Dv5 or will I have to purchase new ones for V5?

I experience the same problem. Was something done to fix it, BaiterOne? -
thanks Doug. I might have resolved it from a suggestion by my Buffalo Airways Virtual Airline hub manager. He said to check if Orbx libraries had AEC activated. I looked at Orbx Central and the Libraries entry was not green checked. I set that properly and it seems to have fixed the problem. I taxied around the Tulita ramp with no difficulties. Haven't had time to check some of the other small airports but it's probably ok now.

I'n noticing some anomalies in the Northern Canada airports such as Tulita in the Northwest Territories. When I take the plane off the taxiway onto unpaved ramp or parking areas it hits spots which register as a crash. If Detect Crashes is turned off the plane bounces in the air when it hits those seemingly random areas. This is in P3D v3.x.

answered What is this ground texture
Don Whyte replied to Don Whyte's topic in Orbx Global Vector Support
Thanks Holger. I am using V3 and that is for sure the problem. Don -
Please can anyone tell me what is this marshy looking ground texture on the shoreline behind the aircraft? This is at Moraine Lake N 51 19.34' W116 11.05' It appears at several lakes in Banff National Park within the NA Northern Rockies package. Having been to some of these locations I do not recall seeing this in real life. I have Global Base, Global Vector and Open LC North America. Another view showing how odd it looks Respectfully Don Whyte

Aah I see... that answers a lot of questions Nick. I will look at the Central Rocky Mountains package. It looks like a lot of corrective work went into it. Thanks for your efforts to bring that information to me! Too bad I missed the Christmas sales... Don
