  1. Hey Doug, I followed your suggestions and everything's looking good. I just took a scenic flight from WA69 to KESW and had no issues. Thank you again for a FANTASTIC product!
  2. Thanks for the tip--and prompt response Doug! I'll give it a try and let you know what happens. Walt
  3. I'm really loving your Pacific Northwest Scenery--It's absolutely breathtaking! Unfortunately I'm encountering some distracting elevation issues that I can't resolve. For example, the WA99 airfield is sunk into the terrain about 6 ft, (see attached) and when following a nearby river the water's elevation goes from below terrain to about 10 feet above the terrain, making the river look like it's sitting atop a wall. Apparently there's some sort of terrain mesh conflict, but I can't figure out what's causing it. When flying your Pacific NW, I'm using SIMstarter NG's custom scenery tool to ensure that the only active scenery is FSX default and ORBX-related (see attached screenshot) and I'm relying on FTX Central 3 to handle installation and ordering of the scenery. QUESTIONS: - Based upon my attachments, has FTX Central 3 ordered the Pacific NW scenery correctly? - Is there anything amiss with the scenery ordering or my scenery.cfg (also attached)? Thanks--and thanks again for the fantastic products! Scenery.CFG
  4. Problem solved! You were right--Traffic 360 installs a large AFCAD file named ai-traffic.bgl in \FSX\scenery\World\scenery\ and disabling that (I renamed it ai-traffic_bgl) fixed the alignment issues. Now things are looking great! For some reason ScruffyDuck's Simple Airport Scanner did not reveal the conflict, so I thought something else might be going on. Thanks again for your help.
  5. Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, I'm reluctant to start manually shuffling Orbx layers as that usually has disastrous results like sunken or floating runways, etc. (enough to make a sim pilot lose his mind). That's why I'm relying upon FTX Central v3.0.2.2 to figure layering out. My AI package is Just Flight's Traffic 360. Attached is another example of the misalignment, this time at KCVO where my aircraft isn't centered to the small GA parking spot.
  6. jd_jay, I let FTX Central v3.0.2.2 handle the layering. Does anything look amiss?
  7. I recently purchased your beautiful Pacific Northwest scenery (Love it!!), however I'm experiencing aircraft parking placement problems on the first PNW airport I tried: KONP. Starting a flight anywhere except the runways places the aircraft in an awkward, often unusable position. (See attached). I've experienced a similar problem with other Orbx products. I ran ScruffyDuck's Simple Airport Scanner to see if there was any other scenery conflicting with PNW KONP but it reported none. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Thanks again for the great products!
  8. For what it's worth I increased my CPU clock from 3.3 to 4.2 MHz and the result is 2-3 extra FPS over certain Iceland villages. **************** SYSTEM SPECS **************** Windows 10 Home 64 bit 10.0.14393 Build 14393 Intel Core i7-5820K Haswell-E 6-Core 4.2 GHz ASUS X99-A Motherboard 32GB (4 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2400 (PC4 19200) 850w Power Supply GeForce GTX 780 driver version 373.06 Monitor: Dell UltraSharp 27 QHD U2715H Resolution: 2560x1440 (monitor native) G602 Logitech Wireless Gaming Mouse Logitech G510 USB Wired Gaming Keyboard Saitek X52 Pro Flight System (throttle & joystick) ***********************************************
  9. FYI, I recently purchased Orbx's beautiful Norway scenery and I'm happy to report that thus far I'm getting a steady 30-40 FPS over airports, villages, and terrain. Fantastic product!
  10. Thanks Ben! A request regarding FTX Central V3: Whenever I use this interface to install or update Orbx scenery, it scrambles the scenery priority for all of scenery.cfg scenery entries I've painstakingly laid out using Scenery Config Editor (FTX Central V3 appears to resort the scenery based upon installation date). As I have nearly 1,000 sceneries installed this is more than inconvenient. My only remedy is as follows: 1) Make a backup of scenery.cfg prior to running FTX Central V3. 2) Run FTX Central V3, install/update Orbx scenery, close FTX Central V3 3) Open Scenery Config Editor and take a screenshot of how FTX Central V3 prioritized the Orbx entries 4) Close Scenery Config Editor and restore scenery.cfg to the version prior to using FTX Central V3 5) Open Scenery Config Editor again and scan the Orbx folder for new sceneries 6) Set priorities for Orbx sceneries by referring to the screenshot If you know of a better way I'm all ears. Thanks again.
  11. In an attempt to debug some Iceland Demo issues I uninstalled all of my Orbx content, cleared the Orbx folder, and then reinstalled all Orbx freeware using FTX Central 3. Now that I've done this I no longer see FTXConfigurator.exe in the Orbx Scripts folder. Is this by design? Thanks.
  12. BTW, the only Orbx scenery currently installed are the Iceland demo and the Steam version of KCGX Chicago.
  13. Hi Jeff, Thanks for the suggestion. I uninstalled Iceland, and as FTX Central 3 has no direct means for downloading the Iceland zip file I went to https://orbxdirect.com/product/ftxglobal-demo and downloaded it from there, and then I used FTX Central 3 to install from the zipped download. I then powered up FSX-SE. Unfortunately, I see no change nor difference in FPS in the BISI area. Meanwhile I've taken some rewarding cross-country flights in that general area in a Diamond DA40. I then flew a TBM 850 from BISI to BIHU (no FPS issues at BIHU, but then no village). Overall, Iceland's scenery is outstanding! Flying low over the snow is like sleigh ride. Again, awesome work!
  14. Buzzing around your stunning KCGX Chicago area scenery I run a steady 30 - 40 FPS.
  15. Note that it's houses associated with a village or larger urban area that hit my FPS. Individual houses scattered across the terrain don't seem to have an effect.
