My router is down by the front door, we live in a town house so 2nd floor is where I do my simming, gaming and office work, I have no ethernet option as it's to far away for cable... I got around 150mbs on PC, Xbox and smart phone.. I have checked the phone on all 3 levels and it's the same...more than enough for what we do in our house, kids have all moved out so only the 2 of us, unless the cat's up to something....my current ISP deal is around 150mbs so all good... not sure why you have such a difference unless your WiFi is weak...
Wain, to get around the problem of distance within the house I use cables from Develo. An ethernet cable runs from the router to the nearest electrical socket and a second ethernet cable runs from any electrical socket to your chosen electrical item - in my case I use it for my Sonos speaker located on another floor from my router.

On a slightly different note, we live in a two storey detached house and it is a regular practice before going out, even for thirty minutes to close all windows, both upstairs and downstairs. Recently we were renting a fifth floor apartment in Cadiz and I asked my wife why she was continuing the same routine, pointing out that only Spiderman could gain entry via a window and even he would have difficulty heading off with a forty inch tv.

I like real weather when flying big tin but I also like to set up IMC conditions for practicing VFR flying and using the instruments.

Has to be the famous white cliffs of Dover, a great location to fly over at around 1500 ft. Less than twenty five minutes flight from my home aerodrome of Headcorn.

But does the plane? That's the important part.

To the best of knowledge I have never got a discount despite having registered some years ago.

Great post. The last point reminded me of a saying my sister, who is in her sixties, referred to as her "craft" moment. When I asked her what she meant, she replied "can't remember a f***ing thing".

There is a popular myth that you can see the moon from the great wall of China or is it the other way round?

I love collecting brownie points from my wife. After almost forty years of marriage I have collected one point which I treasure as I am sure I will not be able to use it at some future date.

After a number of years doing a lot of flight simming including being a Director of a major VA, I basically gave it up for a year however I have got back into it in a big way, normally doing a daily short haul flight (< 2hours) around Europe. However that is about to stop because my wife and I are heading for some winter sun to Spain for several months. It will be interesting to see how I cope whilst away and how much I will return to it when I get back. I intend to keep up to date with the forum so I am not disappearing altogether.

Around Europe for me, mainly flying the Fenix A320. Short enough flights to keep me busy, especially if I am online and there are a number of controllers on too.

Is that the same Tom Brady who has been left $50 million by his Nigerian aunt and wants to share it with your wife?

Having good health as my wife and I head towards our seventies and are more than reasonably fit for our age. We will, as always, have a long drawn out meal on our own as we don't have kids, have a break between courses to take in a short movie or an episode of our favourite comedy shows and enjoy a glass or two along the way. We will not forget those who have not survived the year (we will attend a funeral on the 29th) and thank our good fortune. As a Scotsman I will let my hair down, or what little is left of it, on Hogmanay.
Best wishes to all.

Moscow late December 1994. Cannot remember the exact figure but certainly around -28. Stepped outside and my moustache froze. Was happy to return to a relatively warm (minus 15 or thereabouts) St Petersburg (not the Florida one).
