[Real World vs X-Plane (Orbx HD) - Formation Flight Over Hood Canal]

This was a formation flight on August 3, 2022 from Tacoma Narrows Airport (KTIW) in Gig Harbor, Washington over the Hood Canal with the Olympic Mountains in the background.

 

The flight was recorded in 4K on a wing-mounted GoPro camera on a Citabria flown by a former F-16 pilot.  

 

The flight was also recorded in 4K HDR on an iPhone from the rear seat of the Citabria.

 

Following the flight, I recorded the same flight route on X-Plane 11 using Orbx HD scenery for comparison with the real-world footage.
