Exactly what I had to do , no fly with community folder full . Empty and the Sim performs great .

I managed to get maybe 50% of my community folder back before it tanked. Now trying to retrace and find the dodgy add-on. So far added a’s and b’s in the list and the Just Flight planes and it works.

Guess this is going to take some time. Not good.

  2. The scenery seems to have gone back into the Community folder ok.. whatever is upsetting the update and causing it to crash must be something like a mesh or other specific mod..

I have got a problem with my home airport saying it’s TRAFFIC and not TOWER. so i’ve deleted content.xml and see how that does

A lot of Stuff from FSX and earlier versions of P3D can be ported over or redownloaded at no costs and that's a real advantage.  HF1 was a big improvement in 5.2  It just looks great.  The only scenery drawback is some of the ground textures at some of the native airports.  Even so, there are a few native airports that look fine as do the Orbx pay ware.  Most of the Orbx  freeware airports are pretty good also.

I have not tried MS 2020 yet but have looked at some of YouTube videos which I recommend to anyone trying to decide,  keeping in mind that most of the videos are trying to pump up MS 2020.  The main dis I hear on MS 2020 is the flight model is not realistic.  I lot of guys seem to have more than one sim.  That's probably how most serious flight simmers are going to wind up.

yes the flight dynamics havent been great in msfs so far. I’ll reserve judgement on the new update til I’ve used it.

Flying in and out of Orbx LOWI is a good comparison for both msfs and p3d 5.2 sims and offer very different pros and cons

  4. Now I realise that as yet, Orbx hasn’t ported Fishburn to Prepar3d but I have a question:

As it is you can see the Fishburn runway in the Orbx TE England scenery and it has a very accurate hill contour just like the real deal.

Now if one sticks an actual airfield file there, will the runway gradient be lost? Is there a way of retaining that wonderful in-situ gradient and have it as a starting point in Prepar3d?

ps any plans to bring Fishburn over?

    cheers, David

I wish there was a way to reduce the excessive blueish atmospheric and ground tints.

    Sherm

It’s a bit desaturated- i’ve turned it up now and things are redder. I’m not flying over Orbx terrain right now (Dubai to New Delhi) so I won’t post a pic!

ps c’mon Orbx I wanna see Asia LC on 5.2 now hah

5.7 Gb at Bristol Intl using TrueEarth GB with all the settings at 100%
