malcolmt16
On a flight from Gatwick to Rome, a route which takes me over the Alps, I am experiencing “shimmering†in the snow/ winter textures on the mountains. Not something you can show in a screenshot, and I cannot produce a video. I am using P3D 2.5, with the PMDG 737NGX, with Global Base, Vector and open LCEurope, with Pilots Globals 2010 mesh. I also noticed that the shimmering is more pronounced when the hills are viewed through the windows of the 3D cockpit. When viewed from an external view, the shimmering is much less pronounced, but not quite absent. I do not think it has anything to do with my P3D settings, as I have done numerous changes in graphics, scenery and lighting to no effect. I am using an i7 4770, 16GB RAM and an Nividia GTX 780 Ti. I suspect it could be something in Nvidia Inspector that I could tweak (assuming it’s not a P3D bug). Can anyone help please? Thanks Malcolm Order #FSS0315841 (Global Base; Global Vector) Order #FSS0366906 (Global open LC Europe)
Double J
The world awaits for Nvidia to make a profile in NI for P3D 2.5 to get rid of shimmering. Till then ..squint! You can tweak till the cows come home and it won't go away. I gave up on P3D 2.X for that reason.
malcolmt16
OK, Thanks. Appreciate the heads up, but I won't give up on P3D just yet! Although the shimmering textures is a little annoying, I think P3D, FTX and PMDG is a far superior experience than I ever had with FSX. I gave up on that years ago.
