flo1981
Hello, Is there a simple way to mix the ORBX freeware AI traffic with the default, or 3rd party (Traffic X) traffic? Thanks in advance!
Todd Harrell
I don't do anything. I use WoAI and it works just fine with FTX AI. You may have to turn your traffic density down in some situations but I honestly haven't had to do that. Todd
ChaoticBeauty
The control panel allows you to have both FTX AI and default AI on.
flo1981
The control panel allows you to have both FTX AI and default AI on. sure, but it is written following below: You should always untick this box when you use FTX NA GA AI Traffic in the Orbx regions of the US and Canada so you can make full use of the FTX custom aircraft for this region
flo1981
Now I set FTX Central to "North America" and cannot enable FSX traffic:
airernie
Check the trafficAircraft.bgl file in the Scenery\World\Scenery directory. If it has OFF or some such text following .bgl, , or has been renamed (exp: trafficAircraft.utb) then just restore the suffix to .bgl and the FSX traffic file will be active again. Ernie You're right, it was renamed, by Traffic X I suppose... So Traffix X will be not compatible with ORBX AI traffix in mixed mode??
Dave_YVR
Traffic X and any FTX AI traffic will work fine together, but you may end up with duplicate's in regions where the FTX AI includes Airline traffic (referring to the actual FTX AI addon package, not what comes with FTX regions and airports). airernie
Just be aware of the potential performance hit. A setting of say 50% GA traffic with the FSX default traffic is less than 50% with FSX AND Orbx traffic files. You might have to move your GA slider down a bit from where it is currently set. The Orbx traffic files don't include airline traffic, so that's not an issue unless you are also using Traffic X. Then the usage of Traffic X and FSX airline traffic will really hit your system because FSX doesn't use lite or low poly aircraft for their flight plans. Both Traffic X and Orbx do,which makes their performance hit less.. Ernie
