Gurdy
Heres one for the techies. When using my DVI cable I get an annoying flicker in the left lower corner of the screen. u can see the image flicker every so often. After checking connections, and drivers and moving speakers,, it went away when I used a DVI/VGA adapter and a VGA cable to the monitor. This effectively rules out the Video card I am thinking and leaves me with 2 causes... 1: dodgy DVI cable (should i buy an expensive shielded cable?) 2: dodgy DVI connector on the monitor. Any suggestions?
Maurice_King
You have used some good logical thought processes in trying different approaches to isolate where the error is being generated and have come to the conclusion that the problem is in the monitor and based on your diagnosis so do I. It could be that the digital interface taking the feed from the DVI socket is not up to scratch, or lack of shielding you could try a couple o different cables to check this angle but if the Monitor is still under guarantee then I'd get it replaced, otherwise use the VGA adapter the image is the same after all. Your not going to loose any functionality as a result of the VGA adapter.
