TheDoctor
I have a rather "cold" problem with FTX Europe (NA, NZ and Australia is fine), it's always winter: This is a shot from Edinburgh, as you can see the trees in the foreground are green the ones in the backgroud are grey and leafless. As you can see in the second image the snowy ground slowly unloades: Recently I had to reinstall Win7 due to a dying SSD, I could recover all FSX files stored in MyDocuments etc and basically was able to revieve FSX (I really hate to rebuild it, Its about 400GByte, have done it before but it's a major task) Any idear ? Paul Webster
Hi, I would re-install Scotland over the top again and hopefully that will fix the missing files but im not sure why you are getting summer and hard winter at the same time like that. Can you confirm what month you are flying in? Paul
TheDoctor
Definatly June. Just for cross check I switched to NA and took a look at KORS and Skagit, there is summer, only in the far distance are some snowy ground textures. My FSX RAM footprint is HUGE, it's about 1.7 GByte her in Skagit. I'll try to deinstall all of europe and do a clean reinstall, but I have to remove it by hand (No install info because of OS reinstall) What would be the safest way to do this (I'm very experienced with the FSX file structure so advanced tips are ok) maybe some of the FSX global files that manage the Landclass etc. have gone bad ? Another thing I could do is shifting FTX to the top of Scenery.cfg (it's huge as well, currently it has 506 entries so choosing the insertion point is tricky, but it was always fine for NA NZ and AU. I have UT Europe as well but deactivated it as a first step...
Paul Webster
Hi, You can find the uninstall instructions for Europe here http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/55811-uninstalling-eu-regions-a-quick-guide/ and the others are also in that forum. If other areas are fine im guessing its just one of the Europe files that got corrupted. Paul

TheDoctor
Ok, testing continued... I slewed from EDTR to Cardiff, everything in nice summer colors now... ...jumping direct to Edinburgh, summer as well. Okay... Could there be a connection with my standard flight and/or weather conditions ? It was safed in winter, with snowy weather, but ActiveSky changes this rather quickly after I go to a location (and the date is july then) I just tested loading a flight at Edinburgh in july direct after FSX start -> all textures fine. Final test: FSX start with my normal default flight and from Quickstart directly to Edinburgh-> Winter wtf I took a look at the date, it was july, the I changed it to august -> Summer Ok, seems to be that default flight, it's infected with winter Ok from my side: case closed, but if anyone of you have an idear WHY this happens, let me know....
