Colourful
Hi everyone, I am having a nightmare trying to configure EU ENG so that I can spend the day enjoying some VFR flying; I don't get much time to myself and today is a good day to fly. I am very frustrated typing this as I have been up since the wee hours battling with downloading, unzipping, unwrapping, installing and configuring this software. Each and every step has been a ridiculous, long-winded and time consuming process leading me to FTX Central that continuously informs me that files are missing. Yet when I browse the directory myself I find the exact file sitting there, completely contradicting the error message from FTX Central. Furthermore after navigating to these forums I find a complicated and unnecessary procedure that left me unable to sign my god damn posts so that you will actually believe that I am not making this up and indeed a paying customer. Finally, however, I managed to reach this stage. I will end my complaint there as I read very positive reviews about the support service provided. To keep the following short: - I am running GEX EUROPE along with several UK2000 airports and various other utilities and aircraft, on FSX sp2, Windows 8 machine. - I returned the GEX interface back to default, then applied FTX Central to Europe. - I have spent several hours searching both the web and this forum for answers but resolutions for some did not work for me. - I have received multiple missing files errors with the latest being - "Apply region error report. FSX File does not exist: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\ORBX\Scripts\Custom.eu\default.xml" - Other similar errors included missing autogen files. Please help me to find a solution as I really want to leave this forum with an incentive to purchase more scenery from ORBX. Regards,
Paul Webster
Hi, Here are a few simple steps to help fix your errors. 1. Please set FTX Central to "Europe" 2. Download and install the 2 England patches (links below for easy)/>http://myftx.com/orbxfreeware/OrbxFTXEUENGPatch001.zip/>http://myftx.com/orbxfreeware/OrbxFTXEUENGPatch002.zip 3. Download and install the latest Orbxlibs/>http://myftx.com/orbxfreeware/FTXORBXLIBS_130301.zip 4. Set FTX Central to "Default" then back to "Europe" If you still get error after can you please list all the files it says are missing (a screenshot of the error might be easier) Paul
Colourful
Hi Paul, Thanks for your reply. I installed all of the above but unfortunately it has not solved the problem. I still receive one error when starting FTX Central, screenshot below: />http://fsfiles.org/flightsimshotsv2/images/2013/03/23/28k7N.th.jpg After applying the coverage for Europe I get this error message: />http://fsfiles.org/flightsimshotsv2/images/2013/03/23/4p632.th.jpg I can still use FSX but do not benefit from the Orbx product. Paul Webster
Hi, Can you check you have the files in those locations, also please try running FTX Central as admin (right click the icon, run as admin) Paul
Herman Ross
Colourful, did you check to see if you're using the right loader? I see occasionally in forums that users inadvertently use the wrong loader (P3D vs. FSX) which causes these sorts of issues.
Colourful
Thank you so much, if I checked my autogen folder sooner I would have seen that the "flightsimulatorx/autogen/default.xml" folder had somehow been renamed to "defaultold.xml" I simply renamed it to default and all the problems have vanished!! Thank you. P.S. Everything was definitely installed in FSX and admit rights were set.
