martinc Posted November 7, 2008 Share Posted November 7, 2008 BREAKING NEWS: FOUR people are dead after a light plane crashed shortly after taking off from an airport west of Sydney. Police have confirmed four people on board a Piper Cherokee which was taking off from Bathurst Airport around 8.30pm today died after the plane crashed onto a rural property about five kilometres from the airport. A police spokesman said all four bodies had been recovered from the wreckage. He said debris was scattered for a quite a distance, indicating the plane crashed at speed. Guest Aussieman Posted November 8, 2008 Share Posted November 8, 2008 Was actually a twin engine Piper Navajo and it crashed in the vicinity of the sheep and cattle agridome which means it had turned west after take off heading away from YSBK (the airport the media says it was heading for).
