bushflyn
Thanks Jay. Interesting read. I can not believe that 4 billion IP v4 addresses are 'running out'! Still, seems that IPv6 will add just a 'bit more' room for the Internet. Thank you IETF! David.

BennyHill
The test site at the above web page is interesting. I knew that my hardware was IPv6 ready as the protocol was already installed on my NIC and wireless. However, my ISP uses Teredo, a type of IPv4/IPv6 gateway and has not yet set up a connection to the IPv6 network. So I won't be able to get to IPv6 sites, without an upgrade by my ISP. My DNS server is set up for IPv4 only (its in my router), but thats OK, because thats how I've set up my home network. My ISP provides Network Address Translation, but only for IPv4. I'll have to check the specifications for my router. Very interesting...............
