ANSWERED What performance should I expect?

Hi again

My rig is roughly AMD phenom x4 320

4g ram

Lots of drive space

Graphics card is ATI Radeon 4800 hd

I don't know what else is important to tell you. When flying away from major cities (Aus I'm talking about) I get great performance. But around major cities it really struggles. I tested around Brisbane tonight with about 1000 combinations of settings. I am wondering if my system just can't cope and what I'm getting is all I can expect?

Your order history shows you have the addon YBBN, it can be rough on older systems but if I recall, one of the developers worked on it using a Q6600 based system which is about equivalent to your X4.

Could you provide what settings and tweaks you're using? The settings I play with first are autogen, water, and clouds. If you post some of your details we can help you out

I'm not near the computer now but it's definately auto en and the slider above it that has all the effect. Yes, when I turn towards the city centre or the airport (even though it's far away) that things crack up.

From your CFG it looks like your system is fairly well adjusted. Only comment I could make is remove the "TERRAIN_MAX_AUTOGEN_TREES_PER_CELL=1000" line and set your autogen manually.

Have you opened the YBBN control panel and adjusted the settings? What sort of frame rates are you getting?

Good morning from downunder, around Bris down to single figures. Yep fairly low settings forYBBN. last night flew a test flt from Mel to Adel one thing I did notice was a good improvement when I turned off Kaspersky. I was worried that I had stuffed up with some of those cfg entries so thanks for checking it out. I will re-test around Bris when I can and report back, may take 24hrs though.

Howdy again,

Finally done some testing & by slowly lowering settings around bris, I'm quite happy. FPS of about 11-15 approaching YBBN but around 19-22 overflying it. I think it's just a matter of getting used to different settings depending where I fly. Testing around YPAD with quite high settings (nearly as high as the ORBX guides) getting pretty much 23-27 (locked at 27)
