ACTIVE Windows regional settings problem

I had problems with NA demo even though I've followed the manual, had black and messed up textures everywhere. Loading took too long and this affected all scenery, disabling from the control panel didn't help.

Then I remembered about regional settings causing problems in the past and setting Windows region settings to english US fixed everything. Control panel and everything else worked as they should.

This is a serious problem that shouldn't be overlooked, disabling or reenabling after it is done doesn't help. I had to reinstall fsx.
