Ziggywig
I seen a Slepcev Storch at one of the Mangalore ( Victoria , Australia) airshows in the 90's. The day was a bit breezy, but not overly so from memory, and the Storch actually lifted off vertically on the spot. Was quite astounding to say the least! The pilot also came back around into the wind at one stage and held the aircraft in a "hover" for want of a better term, as their was little to no forward speed until he accelerated away again. Simply amazing ( but ugly ) aircraft .
