Iain: One other tiny instruction: The lake -- and the Fairmont Hotel -- are "way up there", so if you're doing a nice, low-level run up the valley and along the highway, you can easily miss seeing them, unless you've climbed up around 6500' or so (as my creaky memory serves) just before you get there.
