airman
While I was flying, I found a really nice airport just northwest of YRED. I wonder if anyone will recognize it. The first 4 pics are after takeoff from YRED and the last 4 pictures show this airport. Maybe I did something wrong for it not to show up on my sim. It sure is a great looking airport.. The C185F is a great repaint by MangoTango.. TreeTops
Is this not Caboolture? It has a cross strip.

sightseer
I think thats an Oz airfield. If youfollow the interstate northwestward it will be on your right. Ive had problems running Oz on my system. (Oz2.0). I never tried Oz3.0. I got system instability and periodic crashes. I think my system is on the low side for too much scenery but I can certainly enjoy all the Orbx stuff. Ill upgrade one of these days. (Pink Floyd anyone?) anyway..it is a nice little airport if its the one Im thinking of.

moonman
Great shots again airman!!! Short, fine - and wonderfully captured flight!!! Real great looking water in picture nr.1 And indeed - some most superb scenery here - and a many GA aircrafts too !! And then the baloons - just fantastic!!! though ... not sure: but as far as i know OZx fields do just rarely appear on the "airport-list", as only some of them are mentioned there - i always use the OZx kmz.files at GoogleEarth and PlanG to navigate between them - or: i get there by accident too
airman
As an added update, I just reinstalled all of the OZx airports, all the updates thru 3.3, and the latest libs. Caboolture still doesn't show so I'll look into the kmz files when I get a chance. All the sceneries in Australia are super nice whether I find them by accident or not.. sos
Yes, that's definitely Caboolture (YCAB). It appears in my airports list and on my GPS. There's a utility on the Aussiex site that makes all the airfields available in Plan-G, but I can't remember whether I had to run a utility for them to appear in FSX

Meanwhile, and shame on me, I read the au3.3 update pdf directions and all the airfields along with all the interesting sites are covered. I guess I'll start reading the files that come with the updates. Of course, Caboolture was not AFCAD'ed and that is why it and many others did not show up. And believe me, there are a lot of cool airfields out there. Hopefully I can find the utility you mentioned. Thanks for the info.
