alexf Posted January 21, 2011 Share Posted January 21, 2011 Nice! I was flying the Cat yesterday in NSW (first time in a long time), and one engine started smoking. Instead of finding a close place to land I just turned the engine off lowered the floats and water-landed smoothly in the ocean. Opened the manual (I know: checklist) and found I neglected to open the cowl flaps. Did, restarted and took off. It was fun to deal with the emergency.
