pvjen1
Just wondering How much of a performance boost could we see with an airport like YMML on an equivelant overclocked i7 930 with 6 cores and even the extreme edition 8 core. As far as I am aware FSX only benefits from multiple cores for terrain textures and terrain. So would that mean If we overloaded YMML or YBBN with ai and a PMDG 747x on an 8 core (which I hear is expected to be released in the not to distant future) will the performance boost be minimal over say i7 980x? All I'm hoping is that the new intel chips with more cores bring better performance to FSX with regards to big aircraft and lots of Ai. TenBlade
Hard to tell. But I have certainly seen a benefit from the i7 architecture, I wen´t from an E8600 to a Q9650, all overclocked. Minor correction, the i930 only has four cores, the 980x has six. But I couldn´t be more curious to know what 8 cores will do for this hobby/life style Bjorn
