davidv
Noticed my GTX 480 is getting a bit toasty, been going in the 80s in some games. What's too hot for a GPU?
davidv
Ah there's the reason, had VSYNC off, so instead of capping at 60fps, WoW was running 150-250 fps lol. Vsync back on, 60fps max, happier temps. Anyhow still would be good to know what the max temps should be for the card.
alexf
Mine is at 76C idle, 80C in FSX. It's fairly new (not overclocked) and don't yet know what's "normal". Didn't know VSYNC and FPS limiter had an effect on temp. My VSYNC is set to "Force On". Will play with it and limiting FPS at diff. levels and see. alainneedle1
I have the Zotac 480 Amp!, running idle at 38C and at 68C under full stress test with OCCT....with these card I think a good heatsink is a must...max temp for the 480 is 105C. jgruschow
I have two 480's in SLI. They both run in the 85/90 degree range. Nothing wrong with that. Jack
