A three-stop leg this time, heading back to the coast. (JohnY, just for you, the purpose of this flight was to test P-G's handling of take off/landing times across a multi-stop flight!  ;))

This is a nice little OZx'd field: not a huge amount to it - photo ground, a few buildings and some clutter in the nearby paddock. Enough certainly to recommend it for a stop and poke around.

The airfield is under the 3500ft shelf of the Canberra CTA. Considering the field elevation is 1995ft, that doesn't give you a lot of space to play around!

The first leg, to Goulburn, takes us past Lage George. The CTA has risen to 5500ft, but the cloudbase is keeping us low.

Goulburn is just a stock airfield, so I'm not going to waste pictures on it. Also I rather stuffed up my first approach, which was embarrassing. Goulburn was Australia's first inland city.

The clouds are getting lower and bigger. But there is space between them, whch allows for a spot of cloud dancing...

The Shoalhaven River cuts a fine gorge through the landscape. We'll see the mouth of this river when we reach our final destination.

And so we cross the ridge, emerging onto the coatal lowlands. Ahead of us is St George's Basin and Jervis Bay.

Looks expensive!

I love these scrubby, sandy photo testures! Since this is labelled as a military airfield, I wasn't expecting it to have had the treatment, so coming across it like this was rather a treat!

Final. The airfield is set in Booderee National Park, and despite its RAAF origins, it is open to GA.

Some interesting stuff in the hangar (and a 'heavy' watching over it -- I hope he didn't notice my camera!)

Choppers of some description (sorry, I'm not particularly good at identifying rotorcraft)

And away again. I rather wish I'd ended the trip here. But I wanted to end the flight with an ILS, and this airport doesn't have one.

lake Windermere, apparently. (Don't tell the Lake District Tourist Board!!)

Heading up the coast a few miles to our final destination. This is the estuary of the Shoalhaven river, which we crossed earlier. It's also our turning point to intercept the localiser.

Turning onto the localiser.

Nowra is another default airfield, so we'll finish this flight with one last look back over Shoalhaven Heads, as we make our final approach.
