mhlarsen
What can be the cause of taxi- and runways at YBBN being very 'white', so much that lines are almost invisible? (I have applied latest patch).
Russ White
The taxiways at YBBN are very light concrete, check them out in google earth. We used airial photography of the real runways and taxiways for their textures in the sim, so what you see is pretty close to reality. are you using ground poly's or do you have them turned off in the control panel? mhlarsen
Yes, the taxi- and runways are very 'white' in Google Earth, so thats correct, but the markings seem a bit more in contrast. I have everything turned on in the YBBN control panel. What will happen if I turn off ground poly´s?
Russ White
If your performance is acceptable with ground polys ON, then leave it that way. Turning them off is a performance option for users with lower spec PC's and will result in lower resolution taxi and apron surfaces. The reason there is more taxi line contrast in the google earth images is because you are looking at them from a lot higher up. In the sim when you are in the cockpit the image definition will be lost to some extent as you are so close to the ground. Thats the draw back of using 15cm airial imagery but it does mean you see the airport exactly as it exists in real life, even if that means loosing a bit of definition when on the ground. Russ.
