Separate Gear Up/Down Controls for FSX

Does anyone recall exactly how to do this?  I had it working for years then lost it:

Found this and inserted it into Standard.xml in Appdata and FSX to no avail.

<Entry>

<Index>4</Index>

<Down>GEAR_UP</Down>

</Entry>

<Entry>

<Index>5</Index>

<Down>GEAR_DOWN</Down>

</Entry>

The commands still don't appear as options.  I'm doing something wrong.  Thanks.

Pain to answer my own post but at: FSX Tips & Tricks I re-found the answer.

I inserted

<Entry>

<Index>16</Index>

<Down>GEAR_UP</Down>

</Entry>

<Entry>

<Index>17</Index>

<Down>GEAR_DOWN</Down>

</Entry>

into the Saitek Yoke section of my Standard.xml in Appdata

"16" is for Button 17 and "17" is for button 18

They don't show in the Controls setup  but they work!

Hooray! 1 small step for a tweaker, 1 giant leap in immersion!
