windows 7 and FSX

Sorry to keep asking all these questions but you guys have been a great help for me in deciding on my upgrade, but I have one final question please.

I installed a new hard drive and installed window 7 64 bit and then FSX. installed the upgrades fine.  Then when I went to run FSX, windows 7 pops up and says it changed the colour scheme to windows 7 basic, then when I went into settings and set my display monitor there were no 64 selections.

Am I right in saying that FSX is a 32 bit program and the only advantage i will se is that with windows 7 64 bit, it takes advantage of the extra memory I have

That's correct and Windows changing the colour scheme to Windows basic is it turning off aero as that places a reasonable load on your gfx card.

It's freeing up more resources for you. Aero will restart automatically when you shutdown FSX.

I wish more programs would make use of this feature.
