tim_A
* Proudly staying in Australia * Another trio of fields as we continue our tour of New South Wales. First a very short hop to the grass strip at Adelong, yet again 'following' the Snowy Mountains Highway that we've already seen so many times. From there, on to Wagga Wagga, and finally all the way to the Victoria border at Corowa. [img width=1160 height=309]http://img408.imageshack.us/img408/91/nsw0802.jpg A new day, and bright shiny weather. I love the way they've highlighted the palindrome in the Tumut name on the hangar. [img width=1160 height=309]http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/664/nsw0803.jpg Let's get in the plane: We're ready to rock and roll! [img width=1160 height=309]http://img412.imageshack.us/img412/979/nsw0804.jpg Climbing out. We already checked the windsock before taxying, bit it's nice to double check we're going the right way. [img width=1160 height=309]http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/7100/nsw0805.jpg This is a proper FS airport that has been enhanced, rather than a rough strip. [img width=1160 height=309]http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/9275/nsw0806.jpg It's literally a 10 minute hop over the ridhe, and we're at Adelong. That's the strip under my left wing tip. You can't really tell from this pic, but there's quite a slope on it - very much one way in and one way out. We'll have to fly a 180 and double back. The really adventurous could try landing on the cricket pitch under my right wing... [img width=1160 height=309]http://img412.imageshack.us/img412/7929/nsw0807.jpg Now I'm on final. See the slope? [img width=1160 height=309]http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/9194/nsw0808.jpg Short final. We won't have trouble stopping here! [img width=1160 height=309]http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/4809/nsw0809.jpg A quick meet and greet before we set off again. [img width=1160 height=309]http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/7370/nsw0810.jpg Take off downhill. As I said, one way in and one way out. [img width=1160 height=309]http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/8653/nsw0811.jpg You can still make out Tumut byond the ridge behind us. [img width=1160 height=309]http://img532.imageshack.us/img532/2716/nsw0812.jpg Heading into the fast flat farmlands around Wagga Wagga [img width=1160 height=309]http://img408.imageshack.us/img408/7543/nsw0813.jpg Award winning wines come from here, so they say. Possibly more notable, is this is the birthplace of Dame Edna. Hello Possums!!! [img width=1160 height=309]http://img151.imageshack.us/img151/8959/nsw0814.jpg Final for a [img width=1160 height=309]http://img32.imageshack.us/img32/9489/nsw0815.jpg touch... [img width=1160 height=309]http://img412.imageshack.us/img412/3605/nsw0816.jpg ... and go [img width=1160 height=309]http://img444.imageshack.us/img444/4987/nsw0817.jpg Our final leg for todays takes us almost back to Albury, where we started. Corowa is on the NSW-Victoria border. Here we see once again, the Murray River. [img width=1160 height=309]http://img444.imageshack.us/img444/5479/nsw0818.jpg Final, on what is pretty much a straight in approach. [img width=1160 height=309]http://img69.imageshack.us/img69/3725/nsw0819.jpg This is another nicely enhanced FS airport.

tim_A
What I didn't know at the time (being fairly new to both Fraps and TrackIR), was that I was accidentally recording video part of the time. (I discovered this a few days later when Windows told me my hard drive was full! ) Anyhow, I accidentally managed to record the approach into Corowa. Thought you might be interested...
