Bird Dog at Cessnock in the evening

I had a tiring week at work so as a mid-week treat, when I got home tonight, I fired up the Bird Dog and took a nice evening flight at Cessnock.  Photo-essay follows.

Is that a raceway?

Pretty out the window:

But it's getting dark:

On Final:

There's company over the fence:

Taxiing to park, the lighting is nice (in both senses):

Parked, and don't the planes look nice in the sunset?

Still and quiet:

Ahhhhh, I feel better!

I REALLY like the Bird Dog.  It may not have as hyper-realistic a FM as the A2A Cub with Accusim, but it's a very fun bird to fly.  Good to great visibility (excellent out the back), excellent VC textures.  The little cords on the lamps swing with the g forces (nice touch!).  I find myself hopping in it frequently, and I have a number of fun low and slow planes to choose from.

And, yes, sunsets since REX have become my very favorite time to fly.  Reminds me of when I was taking lessons.  I could only fly after school and after work at the local grocery store (had to make money for the lessons) so it was often a late evening affair.  Loved the long shadows and calm air.
