This serves two purposes -- to deliver the Duke as promised, and to 'knock off' an entire state (Australian capital Territory) in one hit. But since we're starting in NSW, and ACT is entirely contained within NSW, we're counting it in the tour... When I was there three years ago, this was mostly empty lake bed. We're somewhat North of track. Beneath the tail, you can clearly see the Tidbinbilla Deep Space Tracking Station (the orange Restricted zone on the map). Its 70m dish is the largest in the Southern Hemisphere.
