Hotspot
Thanks alan2 - around the 1950's when Mascot airport was closed by fog the PanAmerican Stratocruiser used Dubbo as the alternate, where I was lucky enough to be at high school. It would howl low over our house from the east on these occasions at around 0730, giving me enough time to race out to the airport on my grid (bicycle) and feast my eyes on it's gigantic size for a full five minutes, craning my neck to get a glimpse of the supermen who were flying it before haring off to school trying to think up an excuse for being late - what a machine!!
