Herman Ross
Recently came back from a river cruise in Europe and decided to do some low leveling along the Rhine and Danube to see how FSX and P3D compared. Obviously, I knew it wouldn't be a match. At 500' AGL or so, I became aware of a lot of hills and valleys in what should be a flat river. I have Global Base Pack, Global Vector and Global lc Europe installed in P3D v3 and FSX, and both show the same effect. In essence, it looks like the river is just painted on the terrain grid instead of there being flat portions to "hold" the rivers. Is this normal? http://fsfiles.org/flightsimshotsv2/images/2016/09/12/2016-9-11_18-50-34-391.jpg http://fsfiles.org/flightsimshotsv2/images/2016/09/12/2016-9-11_18-50-46-512.jpg Note the GPS lat/lon in the upper right. This is a bit west of Schweinfurt I believe. Both pix are from P3D v3 if that helps.
