RV-4 with Mindstar GPS? How does the conventional panel AP work?

I'm trying to use the Mindstar GPS with the RV-4, since the RXP GPS is unsupported and doesn't work with FSX Steam. Is this possible?

The manual contains no information on the conventional panel. How does it's autopilot work?
