gprguy
Bought KTVL, KFHR, and PAHO tonight on the same order. Happened during the site outages so the purchase was a little wonky but the keys were delivered right away. Installing KFHR was a little strange too (refused to validate the key a couple of times, worked the third). KTVL validated fine but the installer isn't coming up. The FSS wrapper shows the warning box not to click Finish until the installer runs, I hit Ok, and the KTVL installer never appears - it goes right to the FSS Finish screen. I can see in the temporary directory that the installer files unwrap, and after clicking Ok there is a small delay and then the executable for the installer is deleted. I'm thinking the KTVL installer is failing silently and then the FSS wrapper just moves on? Haven't tried PAHO yet, waiting for the quad installer. This is on Prepar3D 3.0 (which probably doesn't matter since the installer doesn't even load) and Windows 10. KTVL 1.10 installer that I downloaded just an hour or so ago. Misha Cajic
Hello, Very strange. What happens if you try to run the installer by double clicking the exe file in the temp folder once it's been extracted by the wrapper?
gprguy
I had actually tried that last night, but didn't want to volunteer that since I didn't know how close to the line that would be with messing with the DRM. Anyway, the same thing happened - nothing visually noticeable, and then the executable deleted itself. I'll try that again once I get a second but running it from a command prompt just in case it's printing out any text.
gprguy
Just tried running it from a command line before hitting OK on the FSS wrapper, here is the output: G:\Temp\1\{22789D32-CBE8-4CAC-96FE-068649C08B7B}>dir Volume in drive G is Games & Data Volume Serial Number is A82D-5D5C Directory of G:\Temp\1\{22789D32-CBE8-4CAC-96FE-068649C08B7B} 12/09/2015 11:33 PM 524,288,000 OrbxFTXKTVL110.1 12/07/2015 06:55 PM 489,191,325 OrbxFTXKTVL110.2 12/15/2015 06:43 AM 524,288,000 OrbxFTXKTVL110.exe 3 File(s) 1,537,767,325 bytes 0 Dir(s) 598,885,761,024 bytes free G:\Temp\1\{22789D32-CBE8-4CAC-96FE-068649C08B7B}>OrbxFTXKTVL110.exe Access is denied. Misha Cajic
Hello, Might be worth trying to re-download the installer and try installing just in case something got corrupted last time. If that's not the problem, I'll check with the team and will get back to you as soon as I can.
gprguy
Sure thing. I just re-downloaded it and picked a different server at FSS just in case. Same results. I also checked the md5 on the copy I originally downloaded, it matches the FSS page.
Misha Cajic
Hello, Could you try temporarily disabling any anti-virus software you have installed, and then install the product normally? Some software may bring back a false positive and interfere with the installer.
gprguy
That actually did the trick. A zillion orbx sceneries installed and this is the first time that's happened to me. The AV software wasn't registering an alert either. Anyway, thanks much for the help, off to check out KTVL..
Misha Cajic
Awesome! If it ever happens again, that should probably do the trick. Enjoy!
