[Orbx Central takes forever to open]

The thing is that I am rather looking for permanent solution as it happens almost every time I am trying to run Orbx.

Hi,

For couple of weeks already I have an issue with very long boot up time of Orbx Central. Sometimes it takes like 5 minutes, sometime longer. At times I am losing my patience  and just quit. Until, say May everything was fine.

Do you have any idea what may be the cause? What info you would need to pinpoint a cause? 

I am on WIn 10, Legion 5 gaming laptop with 16 GB RAM and 2x1TB Samsung SSD. I have MSFS and P3D v5 installed.

Yes, I know. I have the same problem in the KSAN.

My question is - what to do?

I would love to be able to use Orbx KSAN, Orbx KBUR along with Orbx SoCal

Hey,

I do have KBUR in P3D 5.3. 

It was working fine until I installed recently the NA Souther California.

 

As you can see after installing SoCal I lost most of buildings in the Burbank Airport.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

I agree that $3000 is a bit "overboard" but I just took into account my 'dream machine' from 2019 + RTX 3080  

In either case it was fantastic example to pitch PPL to my wife. It was like - hey, I just save $3000 and unlike with gaming PC I'll be able to take you f0r $100 hamburger.

I am not complaining about that freebie, but...

 

I wonder if you had a chance to ask when nVidia will be able to deliver those RTX cards they are promoting.

Honestly, right now it's a bit frustrating when I keep seeing their ads and cards so expensive so reasonable flightsim-capable PC with RTX costs the same as my car.

 

On the bright side - when I realized that desktop I planned to get would cost almost $3000 eventually I pulled the trigger and signed up for $7000 PPL course.

While I do understand that, it is a bit disappointing. 

Have you consider keep separate packs for those freeware airports already included in payware regions? The same way you had it in the past by 'continent'?

I do not expect I ever buy Germany region but rather Oceania and PNW or California. However, it would be cool to be able to fly sometimes from German airstrips - I am from Poland, and Germany from above looks pretty similar to my homeland landscapes
