Are there a lot of moving cars around the airport? Static cars or empty roads look very odd.

IIRC yes, and the video above shows even the red double decker SkyBus's lapping around the terminals...

There may be commitment to completing the project but an inability to proceed that is expected to be overcome, but no idea when. All I can say is if and when Orbx is in a position to move forward on a project, they will advise, until then assume that there's some impediment to proceeding and leave it at that.

See, you've proven my point.  a simple line explaining a possible reason for the delay and we all understand the current situation.

I do sincerely thank you for advising us.

Well that assumes that there is any progress or commitment, which there may well not be, if there are problems with source matrial or a developer's ability to complete the project.  I'm not sure releasing a statement such as "there's no news on this project at the moment sorry" would serve any purpose.

Best to assume that if and when a project is on track for a release date there will be notification, until then I'd say assume that the developers have no idea on whether it will proceed.

If there is no commitment to complete any project and I mean any and not specifically YMML when said project has previously been publicised as in the works or shown some progress shots than I'd respectfully suggest letting your client base know is the least anyone should do.

  4. Maybe a simple "we are still working on it and are looking at somewhere 1st quarter 2023".

Some shots get put out on a platform that very few actual buyers would have known about and then nothing afterwards.

I really do understand the reluctance of all devs to state a release date because anything crashing the sim for example would cause grief, however a little mention regularly goes a long way to keeping us informed and stops the arguing going on....

Imo, I don't think devs should give release dates, it just creates more headaches. I really like how Orbx does their releases.

I agree, not fussed about a release date, although small snippets of info at least let us know work is still ongoing and you're right, here, when those photos start appearing in the "Orbx Preview Announcements, Screenshots and Videos" section it's time to get the CC ready.

A way of marketing - Orbx only post of these forums when a product is within 10 days of release, so other platforms allow them to tease the airport..

lol, in that case I'll delete the Instagram account I just created and wait....

Edit: I find it ironic I had to ask here for more info, then find out there was info on Instagram only, and then only for a very brief period of time....marketing used to be about maximising your reach....

    It is;

With no disrespect intended could someone from Orbx confirm they still plan on releasing YMML for MSFS...not asking for a release window, just if it's still planned....otherwise the freeware developer Danr86 with a version on Flightsim.to might feel the urge to restart his upgrade which he stopped working on thinking an Orbx version was being developed.

I too just took my first flight. Out of Moorabbin NE then back over the city a couple of circuits then over the ports and north

    Absolutely wonderful

I have apartment just off Spring St in the city and there is a new double tower Shangri-La Hotel and apartments being built. The buildings are topped out but far from finished and at around 60 floors will be part of the skyline (they are near corner of Latrobe and Spring overlooking Carlton Gardens. There are re a couple of cranes on the roof but the buildings looked more finished than they are. Team has been taken to detail the final build. Again wonderful detail.

Also travelling down Little Lonsdale Street the light on the building models is so accurate, I noticed this too on the cutting near the Hoddle Street end of the Eastern Freeway (just near Yarra)

    Thanks

Of course we all wait now for YMML

I know what you mean....saw the musical Hamilton with my family on Saturday at Her Majesty's Theatre, walked up to Spring St and past The Princess Theatre where families were gathering early for the Harry Potter play and had an early dinner at the Imperial on the corner of Spring and Bourke St

    ....and...

Came home, saw this city pack was out and downloaded it asap, after my first flight I then repeated our Saturday night out again in a helicopter....for those not familiar with the city of Melbourne this scenery is superb for detail and accuracy....I guess it helps that Orbx calls it home as well....and I know you OBX staff work at neighbouring YMEN so surely you can gave a little snippet on the status of YMML...

The Orbx Team normally advise what to do after the release, (don't think they have prior information like us as to how well it will all work together) short term we may have to but the team normally manage to get the WU updates working with their scenery after a few days/weeks. Certainly been the case with the other WU updates.

Except in the recent Asobo Q&A they stated Orbx was directly involved in some aspects of WU 7 like the POI's so I think Orbx already knows how the MSFS World update of Australia interacts with all their scenery.
