I think you are being a bit unfair expecting Orbx to know whether their scenery is compatible with every other dev's scenery. I don't think any dev could do that.

Obviously ther are going to be some conflicts but they will get resolved as and when they arise. BTW I have no connection with Orbx except as a customer on occasion.

It's not the  compatibility so much as to which POi's are in the new scenery so that we can remove the versions d/l from Flightsim.to to avoid duplication! I also suspect that the Orbx should be better than fan made offerings. Also the optimization should be better. This may not always be the case though as there is much excellent free stuff out there!

I just set up a flight at ESSA at that helipad in the Guimbal Capri G2 and as with the other helicopters, the traffic and statics around the airport are all firmly attached to the ground.

Must be something causing your unique problem

Did you delete the scenery indexes folder and allow the sim to build a new one?

I did. It's not a biggie though as long as I avoid that helipad! It's weird though as I've emptied all my Community folder except Orbx ESSA, yet the floating planes remain! 🤔

    That sounds very weird.

Do you have WU Nordics installed? And removed the ASOBO version?

WU Nordics is installed. I also had default Asobo ESSA installed. I removed it & deleted Rolling Cache but the problem still occurs. See Pics....

My airplane is fine, on the ground as you would expect, as you can see my heli in one of the pics!

In this case it's not an upgrade, it's new build. If you have the original it will continue to be what you paid for. If you want to have the new layout and graphics, you can choose to get it or not. Orbx airports have always been released as point in time products, some developers choose to update or upgrade. But this is a new build that was a result of a major change to the airport, and as I understand it, because of the unique nature of the location, it required a fresh start.

So therefore £5 makes this "Upgrade" a complete bargain!! :)

  5. On the forums it has been requested a few times & even hinted in 2020 that the devs were keen to update this for MSFS . Could someone at Orbx please confirm whether this is going to be available for MSFS in the not too distant? The MXI one is poor compared to Orbx offerings, still it's better than nothing. I've been holding out for a few years but it seems to be a forgotten treasure by Orbx.

  6. 3 Months & we are still waiting. Are Orbx still going to release the update for sydney? I'm starting to have my doubts. It would be nice if they could give us an update being as it has been so long. It's a bit like AH's DC-3 which seems to have been promised forever!! If it's not coming soon, can someone advice how I can get  credited for the Sydney City Scenery as it is pointless having it in my sim ever since the Australia update!! Normally Orbx are pretty good with updates. Bit sad really. :(
