I have ready many complaints about KVNY performance in MSFS. I too have big issues in that regard...this is the only airport scenery that gives me grief. It causes crashes and brings the sim to crawl even if it doesn't crash. I also own KBUR and have no problems just a couple miles away.
I fly IRL from VNY and have been around this airport for years. If VNY gets revision, then I would suggest removing the enormous amount of ramp objects. Most of the ramp clutter is simply inappropriate for a GA/BizAv airport:
-Barricades
-Pallets
-Pallet loaders
-Large aircraft tugs
You just don't see these things around a U.S. GA airport. The static aircraft choice and placement is pretty good, the models and texturing of airport buildings is excellent...but there's just too much stuff on the ramps. I would recommend removing the ramp clutter as a first step.
