I love Australia - flight simming is the only way I'll ever get there.

Are there any AI Traffic programs that let you add your own custom flight plans? EG: GA, charter or Mil.

When I was flying, mine was "Green Bean" as our flightsuits were green and I am quite a bit over 6 ft. and had to wear a size long. Most of the time it was just shortened to "Green". Incidentally one of my family patriarchs, way back in the 1700's, given name was Green.

Am I correct to say I don't have to re-purchase all my Orbx scenery (60+), but I do have to re-download all v5 compatible scenery when I finally upgrade to P3Dv5.3?
I guess I have a few months to spare.

Circa 1953 - A large cardboard box with the top and bottom cut out to fit over me. On the inside was drawn "flight instruments, switches and radar screens". A circular steering wheel from an old toy car was some how affixed also. I would sit in the back seat of the family car (a '52 Nash Rambler) and "fly" whenever and wherever we went.
As I grew older, I graduated to making plastic model aircraft. I remember the first plastic model I found in a trash pile - a Lockheed XF-90. I "restored" it and as far as I remember still had it when I joined the USN in 1961. Finally got to really fly as a helicopter aircrewman.

The only picture I found of this aircraft made it look like it had seen better days.
It is good some modelers have produced examples of largely forgotten aircraft that have been consigned to the dusts of history.

I have actually had the one in the pictures fly over my location. Low, but not low enough to see the reg. numbers!

Back 5 months ago I experienced a massive lightning strike (motherboard, CPU, some HDD, and SDD). After a few months of trying to repair it to no avail, I finally purchased a new machine. I have finally managed to recover most of my files. I have reinstalled P3Dv3 and am slowly reinstalling all my Orbx sceneries (the hard drive that held Orbx files was a victim of the strike). I have P3Dv5.3 waiting in the wings to be installed. The reason for v3 is I understand Orbx Central may not recognize my previous v3 purchases if v3 is not on the machine and I would have to repurchase all my old sceneries once more for v5.
Will Orbx Central allow me to install directly to v5 instead of copying from the v3 installation? I don't plan on using v3 after I install v5.

I've found one of the perks of getting old enough to retire is I can get up in the morning when I want to, not because I have to. Also, I can take my time doing a project or odd job and not have to hurry up and get it done right away because I have to go to work in the morning.

In the Google pix, following the street around and back up the hill we find an intrepid motorcyclist at the top waiting to "go down".

Fizzelle, That story certainly gave me a chuckle. Reminds me of some of my escapades. On my first bike while going around a bend in the road I "forgot how to steer". Going off road, I managed to keep it upright, dodging headstones in a cemetery, before I got it to stop ! Can laugh now, but scared the heck out of me then.

In truth I sold my two wheel BMW four years ago to someone who wanted it more than I. I was getting a bit leery of riding due to my age and strength. (Plus he paid me more than I paid for it) A few months later I still had the itch to ride and I found a five year old, three wheel BRP Spyder (990cc) that had 1200 miles on it. I didn't have to worry about my leg muscles being able to pick up a fallen machine. Some may laugh at tricycles but they can run as fast as two wheels. What a blast! It now has over 8000 miles on it and I will add another couple of K this year.
Come on spring !

I do have some moments, but not many. 75 in Feb and am now waiting anxiously for the weather to break. I have serviced my motorcycle and can't wait to hit the roads.
Spring, summer and fall are for getting out and doing things. Day trips and weekend rides ! In between, doing what the wife needs done and sitting by the pool enjoying a cold one.
Winter is for flight simming. Although I will admit hitting the keyboard a bit on summer evenings.
