  1. I recently purchased FTX Orbx NCA and installed in both FSX and FSX steam. I am also using DX10 in both. Unfortunately in both set ups there are numerous 'black boxes' which could either be trees or street lights judging from the spacing and alignment. I was getting about 12/20 FPS in FSX and 25/45 in FSX Steam, that is until I applied the above DX10 Shader Release 3.2.3 downloaded from AVSIM. All I can say is WOW!. The black boxes vanished, the cockpit shadows greatly improved (the fuzzy jagged edges were replaced by smooth stable ones, pixellated 'points' of light disappeared and the frame rate for FSX rose dramatically to 30/60 fps flying in the same area (close to KFSO). Unfortunately the set up batch file could only find the original FSX, not the FSX Steam location. I managed to install the FTX ORBX NCA into Steam using a registry hack which worked perfectly. It did not fool the Shader Batch file installer however. {I am hoping to parallel both systems while I compare both and will eventually settle on one or the other). Hence my question, is there a way to manually install the Shader files into FSX Steam? Many thanks, Peter Luff.
