  1. Hi,

I needed to reinstall MSFS. I want to install my products but E:\Install Packages Path\Community is not recognizable. How to change this in ths Orbx Menu? Orbx wants to install my products in C: \Users\name\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe.

  2. Hi,

Something is really strange. If I open your webpage on the mobilephone and try to buy a product, it has a price. If I open the same product on my computer at home, the same product is 5 euros more expensive. After I login on the phone, the same product also increases up those 5 euros. Is there something wrong?

With FSX/P3D you could easily put AI in a seperate bgl file. Deleting the file would remove the statics. You only needed an exta AFD file to have the parking spot available..

MSFS is different. If you add/remove a file also a layout.json file needs to be generated. You can not just delete a file... Also the file structure is different..

So some devs already figured this out with a config tool, but others not...

Shoud we wait for something coming later?

Most airport sceneries in MSFS have static aircraft. That's been true since the first week it shipped. Only a couple of devs made it possible for you to remove them (by having the static aircraft for their sceneries in folders you could delete. This all has been debated here and elsewhere many times. Personally, I like the static aircraft. You don't. But there is no option with Orbx scenery to disable them. I wish I had simply stated that when I first saw your question, but I was actually tired of answering it after nearly a year.

I believe so... But I just have MSFS for 1/2 weeks... I don't know everything, especially because the layout and folders organiztion is very different from previous sims. Sorry... And I understand you like static AI. I don't like. Sorry... That's why I asked this question. With Orbx it is strange because it was always possible to remove them. Maybe I can rename all the default aircraft folders so that they don't appear. I probably won't fly any default aircraft as well.

Erik is correct.  There is a setting in MSFS which adjusts ground aircraft density.  Set this to zero to see no MSFS planes at the airports.  See the pic below:

I set it to 0 and I installed some Orbx sceneries. I still have static aircrafts, maybe now from those Orbx sceneries. Is there any possibility to throw them away?

Hi Harpsi welcome in MSFS! Regarding AI there are different sliders. There is a seperate slider which shows ground AI. So even if you set AI to zero static AI will pop-up. I cannot show you a screenshot right now but hope it helps.

OK. Can you show me how to remove ground AI, static or dynamic? In the air I don't see them so maybe it is no problem at all.

Only having AI aircraft with real schedules would exclude all or at least most of the GA aircraft, because these usually have no schedule in the real world.

Even many heavies have no schedule and are just parked at airports for maintenance or other reasons.

As I mentioned in my prvious post, if you like real world schedules, then use the real time live online traffic option. The statics will only add even more realism as explained above.

Maybe you didn't understans my point. I don't want aircrafts which are built with sceneries (statics) and also those who are coming in the FS packages. For example, KJFK is to be full or Delta, American, JetBlue and so on... not with Orbit or other custom MSFS aircrafts. Also for GA, I would like to have mine.

    Hi

Have you also asked at the non Orbx MSFS support forum?

Yes, in several foruns. I see that there are milliards of people seeing posts but answers come very late and/or are very few. For example, I tried to build my new computer alone, just with forum helps. In fact it is now an excellent machine, but it took me 3 or 4 months to build it. I ask a question which has an answer maybe 7 or 10 days after. If you need answers before buying this or that component or changing this or that thing and those answers come 7 or 10 days after, well... That's why I asked the question here as well.

I don't know if there are statics in the default MSFS.  Usually statics wil only be added by 3rd party developers.  Are you sure what you are seeing are not AI aircraft that are simply parked?  In any case, there are three options for AI aircraft.

    - Real time online AI, which tries to produce AI in the sim based on real world, real time schedules.

    - Offline AI which will show aircraft running on pre determined schedules.

    - Off, which will give you no AI aircraft

As with other sims, you can adjust the percentage of the AI that you will see in your sim.

MSFS has another way in which you will see other aircraft, and that is multiplayer.  If you have multiplayer enabled in your settings then you will see other player's aircraft in the sim also.

I still see AI aircrafts when the option is 0 aircrafts... Statics or dynamics? I would like to get rid of all. I just want AI aircrafts with the real schedules like we had in FSX. Maybe it is not possible at the moment... I don't know.

I can't help you with the statics, but there is no need for schedules if you have ticked "Real World Live Traffic" (or whatever it is called in the MSFS menue), because this is not only based on real world schedules but uses real time data from the real world. So e. g. real world Delta flight DL5 has a delay of 13 minutes at the time you fly the sim, than DL5 will also have a 13 minutes delay in your sim.

Liveries and call signs are not perfect though. While some flights use the real world call signs orhers are just called "Generic" by the default ATC. Also all default liveries are generic ones. I have no idea, if there are real world livery packs for the real world traffic are available yet.

At least i would like to take those horrible statics or dynamics out of the scenery. I would like to improve MSFS with the same type of AI aircrafts as FSX did.

  11. Hi,

I am new to MSFS. I have it installed for one week and I am still trying to configure essential things.
    I would like to know:
    1. How to get rid of those static aircrafts from all default sceneries.
    2. How to have AI working like he had with FSX and P3D. Do they work with schedules as well? Where to put them? It seems that folders' organization of MSFS is quite different than previous simulators and I don't know where to find those folders.

    Thanks.

The LG will offer the better image quality with the correct source and settings. It’s really a judgement call on where you will use it and what else you use the computer for in all honesty. I would also add if you are new to LG OLED TVs that motion handling isn’t their strongest point so something else to review and factor in. May not be an issue with MSFS and it’s slower pace though - I’ve never used mine for flight sims.

I never used a TV as a monitor...

I just had my Asus VE248H Full HD monitor for FSX. That's it.

So, I don't know what you mean exactly...

Tearing is only really going to be an issue in MSFS when panning your view around. If you are doing this regularly then you may want to lean towards the Dell. I also personally prefer the wide aspect for flight sims although if sitting close enough to the TV then it is less of an issue. You will also get better fps running at native on the Dell.

The LG is the bigger panel though and will yield the better image, especially if Windows gets its HDR act together.

But for image quality do I get much better image if I go to this LG 48 A1 due to its HDR feature?

And yes, I don't stay inside the cockpit for too long. I like to see all views. Cockpits are for take-off, landing, taxiing mainly. I can stay insider the cockpit if the panoramic view around is good, let's say...

  14. After thinking, rethinking, having some extra bugdet and seeing that good monitors are also in shortage like GPUs, I have now two options at a great discount:

    - Dell Allienware AW3420DW with G-Sync native, 3440*1440, but no HDR >>> 863 euros

    - LG 48A16LA 48" OLED UltraHD 4K with fixed refresh rate at 60 Hz and it seems with HDR10 (is it true?) >>> 1015 euros

My main problem is tearing, lag or stutters when MSFS is going to 20-30 fps since I like to have all types of extra addons installed like AI aircraft, volumetric clouds and so on...

Which one to choose? I still have 1 day to decide...

My main specs are: i9-10900K, Asus RTX 3090 OC, MSI MEG Z490 ACE, RAM 32 GB 3200 CL16 and Kraken Z73.

Answering Jon Clarke, I am in Portugal where there is some shortage of good monitors. But I bought half of my new computer in Spain and components were here in 1 or 2 days... And FreeSync is not recommended for NVidia GPUs, as far as I know from many comments here.

  16. Hi

I am finishing my setup with the last thing: the monitor.

I know that with a big high end GPU everyone would advice a 4K monitor. The situation is: I don't have too much G-Sync monitors available and the budget is not too much right now.

Probably I am going to buy Dell Allienware AW3420DW because I have a big discount at the moment. But... this monitor is only 8 bits and no HDR. Is this a big problem?

Any on these monitors will be just fine for MSFS and they are all very similar in spec - same size, screen technology and feature g-sync which will work with your RTX 3090. I would strongly look at an ultrawide screen for MSFS though as I think it is more immersive and your GPU is more than capable of driving 3440x1440 for example.

After searching and more searching monitors, and asking questions here and in other forums, I think I have found a monitor, the Dell AW2721D, mainly for Microsoft Flight Simulator and video editing/rendering, that satisfies the following conditions:

    * G-Sync - In this case it's even G-Sync Ultimate. With a G-Sync compatible monitor maybe I could have problems with low frames (between 20 and 40 with a lot of addons and ultra settings) and/or low framerate compensation, with tearing, stutters, or lag.
    * 2K - Instead of 4K. The Asus RTX 3090 can handle it, but once the frames would be lower, the other hypothesis would be to lower the game settings which I would not like to do. I always like to have AI traffic 80-100%, pushback cars, ultra settings, complexed scenery, volumetric clouds, real world weather, and all the stuff you can imagine.
    * IPS - Most of the VA monitors with all the other conditions are too expensive.
    * HDR - Most of the monitors with HDR are TN or very expensive and 4K if they are IPS. This one is IPS and has HDR, although other monitors could be much better with this issue.
    * VRR - If I would like to play another game different from Flight Simulator, I would have a monitor with variable refresh rate and not fixed at 60 Hz or 75 Hz, which anyway is not easy to find at a good price.

And the price is not so expensive. It will cost around 700 euros.

The idea is to have a 2K monitor for now. If the experience is good, I turn this monitor into a second monitor and I will buy a 4K monitor to be a main monitor, if a new videocard is not needed...

    Tell me your opinion.
